Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 July 2026

1. What Truing is

Truing ("the Service", available at truingdata.com) matches UK websites to Companies House records and delivers registry-derived signals, such as new charges, share allotments, officer changes, and overdue filings, via a web portal, REST API, webhooks, and an MCP endpoint. The Service is operated by Prashant Pandey, trading as Truing ("we", "us").

2. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and API keys and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised use. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or abuse the Service.

3. Credits, subscriptions, and payment

Paid usage is metered in credits and subscription plans. Credits are consumed only for useful outcomes, such as a matched company, a verified domain, a probable match, or a confident no-web-presence answer. Misses, errors, and rate-limited requests do not consume credits.

Payments are processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record and authorised reseller. Paddle handles checkout, payment processing, sales tax, VAT/GST where applicable, receipts, and payment-related buyer support. Paddle's checkout terms also apply to payment processing.

4. Access after purchase

Truing is a hosted software service. After checkout, the purchased subscription, credits, or watchlist allowance is applied to your Truing account. There are no physical goods, shipping, or downloadable products.

Monthly subscription allowances reset each billing period and unused monthly allowances do not roll over. Prepaid top-up credits remain available while your account remains active unless refunded, reversed, or removed because of abuse or payment failure.

5. Data sources and what our results are

Results are derived from public sources, principally the Companies House register, and from the public websites of the companies concerned, combined by automated matching with recorded evidence. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Source: Companies House. Truing is not affiliated with or endorsed by Companies House.

Results are provided for business intelligence purposes. They are not a credit reference, a credit score, legal advice, or financial advice, and match results marked below verified confidence are flagged as requiring your own judgment. Always verify against the official source before acting on information that matters.

6. Acceptable use

  • No reselling or bulk redistribution of raw Service output as a competing database.
  • No use of the Service to violate applicable law, including data protection and marketing law in your jurisdiction.
  • No attempts to circumvent rate limits, metering, or access controls.

7. Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel a subscription before the next renewal. Cancellation stops future billing but does not usually refund a period that has already started. Refund requests are handled under our Refund Policy and Paddle's buyer support process.

8. Service availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted operation. We may modify features with reasonable notice for material changes.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on results that the Service flagged as unverified.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for material breach of these terms. Sections 5, 6, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
